LaguWalk: reimagine the music of borneo by Orang Orang Drum Theatre

Lagu Walk offers an opportunity for community to be up close with OODT by sharing our journey and experiences we have gained from our previous international and national touring and a working-in-progress of their upcoming theatre production LaguKu 2.0.

In 2018, Orang Orang Drum Theatre (OODT) had invited Ms Rosemary from Ilu Leto to conduct a series of Sarawak Tradition Folk Song workshop.
This is their first approach with borneo music within the structure of workshop. Meanwhile, collecting music instruments has always been the interest of the team, they have emerge different elements from their collection in their composition whereby kuling tangan from Sabah become one of the music instrument often appear in their composition.
The hidden power of 'drum' and the simple appeal of 'song' are what drives Orang Orang Drum Theatre to create.

OODT will develop a new work named LaguKu 2.0 on October at Damansara Performing Arts Centre, by injecting freshness on the old folk tunes and layered it with drums and theatrical features.
